extra joss

current song playing: you first believed by hoku; color my world by regine velasquez
surprisingly, extra joss doesn't take like medicine. it has the color and the taste of the soda drinks LIFT/ MOUNTAIN DEW. it's not even expensive (less than 100 bucks for 10 sachets). HOWEVER... it wasn't strong enough to keep me up the whole night.
after a 9 hour schoolday (with only an hour and a half break), i had to go to UP to watch lucia for history class.
the ticket said the movie was supposed to start at 7. well, after long speeches by the officers of the sponsoring UP student org League of Filipino Students, and the movie director Mel Chionglo, and some movie trailers, the movie finally started at 7:40. (how sad can it be when just before i got in the theater, i was rejoicing when i found out that the film was just 90 minutes long.)
lucia. shot in 35mm. it was lino brocka's last project, but then he died first before he even got a chance to direct the movie. mel chionglo took over his place. ricky lee did the screenplay. the movie was produced by BBC (yep... you read it right. the BRITISH BROADCASTING COMPANY). it won the best environmental film back in 1991. and BBC had the grand plan of giving a copy of the film to all governments around the world to promote environmental awareness. the sad thing is, here in the philippines, we don't have a print copy of the film. we were only able to watch the re-dubbed version from ricky lee's master copy. it was even 7 minutes shorter than the print version. the only copies of the print are in the british film institute and with the line producer of the movie george santos who, according to mel chionglo, could not be found. sad.
*for taskeen and blooey. (read this and it might be able to help you write your reaction papers for history)
how was the movie? great... (read: sarcasm all over my face). dragging. the story was too impossible to happen. exaggerated.
last night, i was supposed to stay up the entire night to do two things that cannot be compromised: study history for today's long exam (oh boy... having a professor from UP is quite a challenge: 20 items of modified true or false--and you have to explain the whole thing, not just change the word that makes the sentence wrong, 4 pts. each item, and the killer.... right minus wrong) and submit a thesis update on chapter two. because of the ineffectiveness of the product, i wasn't able to accomplish both. good thing i was able to wake up early--7:30 AM to come up with something for thesis.
because i like the taste, i might as well give extra joss another try...
just to get everybody to hate me... :) i wouldn't be having classes straight from friday to monday. for some miraculous reason, all my theo, history, and media management classes are called off... :) long break for a full load student. :)
