kids these days

friends would find me annoying every time i express my disapproval of freshmen and high school students' behavior. they think of me as a bully of some sort. this is sort of my attempt to jusify my reactions. every time i read blogs of some high school students and college freshmen, i get annoyed and find their language and topics irritating. some of them are shallow people who are very pretentious. they curse a lot and think highly of themselves. and what's worse is that they actually have friends who put them on a pedestal.

in all honesty, my older relatives and friends would complain about us when we were in our high school days. however, i can actually say that my complaints about today's youngsters are far worse than theirs. i was supposed to accept a teaching job at st. paul pasig and i can just imagine how i'd possibly dread every wednesday of the whole schoolyear.

what i'm trying to say is that for some reason, i noticed that these people are more outspoken, which of course has its own pros and cons. however, it seems that some members of this particular age group have gone too far. how? they seem to have too much bitterness and angst inside them and they think it's cool. and what's weird is that i'm complaining more on the female members than the males who have become tamer than ever.

this entry just shows that i am indeed getting old.
