random thougts on the 29th of april, 2005

holy shit. it's gonna be may soon, and i haven't really done anything productive since school ended, for good. three weeks ago, i played badminton with my friends, hoping it'll cost me a mere 70 bucks to play for the whole day. but no. i actually twisted both sides of my right ankle, prompting me to rush to st. luke's. when i got there, in the ER, i was asked to have an x-ray. after which, the doctors wrapped my ankle with a thick wool-like material with a bandage and ice. everything cost me 2,900++. thank God they were giving discounts (and i was really surprised to find out hospitals indeed do give discounts), otherwise, i would have spent almost 4,000. and my mom would have killed me. today, my ankle is still hurting a bit, but it doesn't stop me from going out. however, whenever i wake up in the morning, i really feel like going to therapy for both of my limbs. my left was damaged further while my right ankle was recuperating. darn. no physical activities for the meantime.
american idol's result yesterday sucked big time. though i'm not a constantine fan, how the hell did scott manage to remain in the show and even be in the TOP group?! a few more weeks of his presence in the show and i would definitely boycott it.
things that i am looking forward to:
1. SINGAPORE TRIP IN JUNE TO WATCH KYLIE'S CONCERT.... sid, we have to make this work, even if it means sleeping on the sidewalks.
2. mr. and mrs. smith-- aha! the culprit that caused the brad-jen break-up... as far as some tabloids are concerned...
3. madagascar-- adults need cartoons... badly (more than kids, actually)
4. deciding on my future. i might try getting a post-grad degree in UP, but there are things that make me think twice about doing so.
5. char getting back from europe-- she left last night, therefore, sid and i no longer have our shopping/ travel/ gossip buddy.
6. going back to pampanga-- nothing beats a vacation from the metro
7. my date with sid tonight at ice monster-- badly need cold food.
8. getting my copy of desperate housewives. because of my selfish friends who wouldn't let me watch the first 5 episodes because they didn't want to repeat it, i had to settle watching the 6th episode trying to understand the plot.... hi kamats!
9. going to the states?-- well, for now, chances are bleak since my mom stole my money for the states. i would have gone there and stayed for three years. it seems like i am officially stuck here with all the problems.
10. losing more pounds-- ironically, since the summer started, i have lost at least ten pounds.
11. having my limbs checked and rehabilitated.
12. seeing ate duday and watching can this be love with her... no, i am not excited about the movie, but more on seeing ate. curse law school. it's good in making their students stay away from friends and loved ones.
13. getting a copy of brand failures and brand royalty... yes, i am to business books nowadays.
14. the rainy season...
15. a source of income...
16. another vacation in tagaytay
17. seeing my cousins and spending a week with them, or at least a day...
18. seeing lesser deaths on television. the madrigal murders in china, japan train tragedy, the chopper crash, and the young woman attempting suicide in china whom bea witnessed... what's next?!

useless trivias for the day

over the weekend, i learned of a fact that scared the shit out of me:

in a 2004 bbc survey, 37 percent of brits said that david beckham was more influential than God?

currently, i am surfing the web in order to find out the true identity (gender) of brini maxwell of the brini maxwell show (as i promised sid last night). if you have seen the trailer for the show, you're going to be left confused. and according to a website "en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brini_Maxwell", she (brini) is a fictional character played by an american drag performer Ben Sander. i knew it.... but. if you see her legs closely, they're too thin to be a guy's legs.

heard of the nescafe quartet? ma-ma-my cup my cup, my cup, my cup... (it's been everyone's lss)

off to watch american idol and help me pray to get scott kicked out of the competition.

the delinquent blogger

i'm back. i hope... (there you go sid. :))
yeap! after more than two months of leaving the world of blogging, i'm back.
obviously, the first reason behind not blogging is because of the tight schedule most of the seniors had during the month of feb. ateneo makes it hard for the students to both enter it and leave it. thank God for the stress, i was able to set some of my personal problems aside. literally, for that month, i haven't been going home. believe it or not, i was religiously doing my group projects. look what it got me into? i met a freakin car accident on my birthday. why? i was stressed out that week plus i was rushing home to get a gift certificate from red crab to give it to my "friend" hopefully as a peace offering. great isn't it?
exam week was full of tension. my patience was unusually shorter. however, two of the more memorable things that transpired that week was: sir han's speech and sir sev and i's conversation. sir sev said that i was a laborer and a production job was the most appropriate for me. and then he asked the question that he has been wanting to ask me since our second class together, "bakit hindi ka nagshift sa com?". i told him too that i thought ateneo wasn't for me, but UP. he said (which up to this day i cannot accept), "hindi, atenista ka talaga!"
after exams, which i obviously didn't really push myself hard for (therefore lacking points to be an honorable mention. sad product of ceasing to be uncompetitive), i decided to face whatever things i had to deal with. unfortunately, results were disastrous. i shall not expound on this.
weeks before grad were awkward. i spent most of the time fixing my clearance (which took me almost a week to get the 6 or 7 friggin' signatures), going out and watching movies, spending time with my cousins and their dog (whom has grown to love me), and attending pre-grad parties.
grad weekend was busy. parties were everywhere and i even went one and left tipsy. drinks were really hard. look at what ateneo education has done to us.
so, since graduation, these are the things that are keeping me "busy":
1. bonding with sid and char-- meaning nonstop window shopping in makati and conversation on the ateneo "high society" and fashion. with their help, i was able to buy two pairs of skirts at rustan's u costing 400 bucks.
2. working on bea's jewelry launch event-- which has been postponed indefinitely.
3. travelling. i went to tagaytay highlands with sid, char, and her family. played badminton, took pictures, watched the apprentice and oprah, savored the breeze, and ate and ate and ate. the following day, i went home to sleep. the following day, i was in puerto princesa in palawan. snorkel, ate, went to the underground river, ate, and went on a city tour and ate. and hopefully soon, i'd go to la union, vigan, puerto galera, bacolod, and cebu.
4. watching all the movies i can get myself to watch. both on dvds and the movies. i saw hitch twice in glorietta 4, watched hide and seek, ms. congeniality 2 and robots just recently. for dvds, i saw little black book (love the unconventional ending), troy (finally! but i wasn't entirely satisfied with the 2 or 3 second exposure of brad's ass), in good company, and spongebob the movie (yes, just like those who have seen it, the goofy goober song has been my lss). hopefully, i'd get to watch be cool before the run ends. movies to watch out: the wedding date, fantastic four, and of course, mr. and mrs. smith.
5. playing ps2. ah. after more than a year of absence from the video gaming world, i have taken my ps2 from my cousin's possession and moved it to my friend's house. i am slowly getting sick of racing (gran turismo doesn't thrill me as much as it used to) and to address that, i have shifted my enthusiasm to grand theft auto san andreas (violence violence violence!!! just what i need).
6. watching all the american shows on television-- the amazing race, the contender (darn, the cute one just got eliminated), survivor, average joe (cool twist), american idol (why can't america kick anthony and scott out of the competition?!), ambush makeover, elimidate, change of heart, queer eye. i have been hooked on watching the following programs: csi miami, csi vegas, friends, the apprentice seasons 2 and 3, and soon, csi new york, desperate housewives, and arrested development.
7. hoping and praying that my mom wouldn't nag me about looking for jobs and getting a better life. well, tough luck. she actually started this morning. and sadly, she stole my money for the states. now, i don't think my plans of leaving will push through.
things i ought to do this indefinite vacation:
1. work out-- i might get into wall-climbing, kart-racing, and boxing
2. travel more
3. practice photography
4. read more books
5. find a job?!
6. have my pc fixed
7. check my mails more often
8. spend more time with my cousins
9. swim and swim
10. save money
11. watch more movies
12. earn money
13. eat less
*have you seen the joy dishwashing liquid tvc? just like goofy goober song, it's my lss too, sadly...
