random thoughts on the 21st of august, 2005

what's with the air this season? a lot of couples i know have either been breaking up or getting rocky recently.
i have realized that sometimes, there are things that we know are worth fighting for, however, we choose not to since there are just too many consequences that we'd have to face and perhaps we feel that we're not strong enough to face them anyway... sadly.
sometimes, whatever we do, how much effort we exert, how much sacrifices we make... they will never be enough for the people we love. why?
everyone needs to learn how to acknowledge and appreciate.
on other matters...
1. i'm considering taking photography seriously. hopefully, by the end of this year, i'm going to get me a digital SLR
2. i have to get used to not going out since sid, bea, char, and jessica will all be leaving soon.
3. i'm feeling frustrated about job hunting.
4. i went to fully booked today and i saw another interesting book... "the simpsons and philophy: the duh-oh! of homer simpson". i seriously have to save 951 pesos for that. i have been craving for reading on ethics lately.
5. i'm seriously thinking of getting a post graduate studies in either media studies or social sciences in UP. actually, i'm thinking of taking both.

i discovered today that there are two new gadgets soon to be available in the market:

1. the "jerk-o-meter": this is a software for mobile phones that enables one to figure out how engaged the person he/she is talking with on the other end in the conversation.

birthday meaning

Your Birthdate: February 20
Your birth on the 20th day of the month adds a degree of emotion, sensitivity, and intuition to your reading.
The 2 energy provided here is very social, allowing you to make friends easily and quickly.
Yet you are apt to have a rather nervous air in the company of a large group.

You have a warmhearted nature and emotional understanding that constantly seeks affection.
You are very prone to become depressed and moody, as emotions can turn inward and cause anxiety and mental turmoil.
It can be hard for you to bounce back to reality when depression sets in.
When things are going well, you can go just as far the other way and become extremely affectionate.

things that annoy me in a mall

  1. people brushing their teeth in the public restrooms. when you see the left over toothpaste and whatever, you get disgusted.
  2. people sitting behind you in the movie theater and kicks your chair, either intentionally or not. okay, so for most of my experiences, it's mostly kids who love doing this, but a lot of adults are not exempted.
  3. people talking loudly and reacting when particular reactions is not called for or demanded by the particular scene. the last time this happened to me was when i watched war of the worlds with my friends. unfortunately, that same screening, the stranger sitting beside me had a terrible breath and he was talking non stop.
  4. salesladies/ salesmen who greet you at the door and follow you religiously as you check out their items. i know what customer service means, but these people stick with you as if you're going to steal something.
  5. salesladies/ salesmen/ waiters who greet you "good evening ma'amsir! welcome to ..." because there is no such thing as ma'amsir.
  6. salesladies/ salesmen who are not helpful at all and just bitch at their customers when asked.
  7. salesladies/ salesmen who don't really know anything about the products they're selling.
  8. the music in the department stores simply sucks. just last monday, sid, jessica, and i went to the mini-sale in rustan's marketing office and they were playing, "kailangan pa bang i memorize yaan...."
  9. promos that don't really do any good.
  10. unreasonably expensive car park rates. one time, i was in greenbelt and didn't know that they didn't have a flat rate even on weekends, so i ended up paying 180 bucks. darn.
  11. mall guards who don't really help out in directions because either they're too lazy to, they don't really know the whole mall, or they just simply don't care.

.... to be continued

p.s. to keloyd. i do acknowledge that i was once a kid, but mind you, like most of my contemporaries, i wasn't like how the kids are today. and i don't really hate them 100 percent.
